What keeps you from speaking up at work?
Honestly nothing!!!
Not feeling like I have the influence to help make changes.
Boss will disagree and think poorly of me
A few particular small groups of leaders may be less open for feedback but most of time feel very open
Questioning my own expertise on the subject
Fear of making a mistake
I just switched organizations at the end ofblast year after being at my last job for over a decade. I'm still in my first 90 days so I'm not sure what questions I should be asking just yet.
Politics – literally Politics
In some settings speaking up doesn't make a difference
Being incorrect
Usually nothing, but in some circumstances, the belief that the intended audience cannot hear the message.
Do it wrong
I speak up too much
Fear of judgment
Others not understanding where I am coming from due to different backgrounds
Lack of respect
Lack of humility from managers to listen to opportunities / feedbacks
Neither
